First Annual 'Jingle Balls' Sports Ball Drive
WILMINGTON, N.C., – (DATE) – The Cape Fear Fish Sticks, the newest franchise in the Old North State League, announced their first annual Jingle Balls Sports Ball Drive, a sports ball drive benefiting several local youth-serving organizations: the Brunswick County Department of Social Services Foster Care, the New Hanover County Department of Social Services Foster Care, the Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina, the Methodist Home for Children, and The Bair Foundation Foster Care & Family Ministries.

From December 1 to December 10, 2025, community members are encouraged to donate new sports balls, including baseballs, softballs, basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, volleyballs, and kickballs, at the following drop-off locations:

“Jingle Balls is our way of starting the season of giving early and showing our commitment to the Cape Fear community,” said Tom Lamont, General Manager of the Cape Fear Fish Sticks. “We want every child to have the chance to play, grow, and have fun, and something as simple as a new ball can make a huge difference.”
The Jingle Balls drive is the Fish Sticks’ first major community initiative as they prepare for their inaugural season. The team will debut in May 2026 at North Brunswick High School, bringing competitive summer collegiate baseball and family-friendly entertainment to the Cape Fear region.
